PeopleLooker provides an efficient background check service that enables users to find out everything they could possibly want to know about an individual… and even more!
The results of a PeopleLooker search are so in-depth and thorough, they may leave you wondering if you, like Tom Cruise’s character in A Few Good Men, can really handle the truth. Nevertheless, to use a few old axioms, it’s better to be safe than sorry and, with knowledge comes power, so it’s better you find out whether your online date has a criminal past or what your potential roommate’s credit rating is like before you jump in at the deep end.
Fast and accessible, PeopleLooker has downloadable apps available that enable you to investigate a person’s past while on the go. The range of reports available is impressive, although, unlike Truthfinder, the service doesn’t offer Dark Web scans or monitoring which can be beneficial for victims of identity fraud.
While PeopleLooker’s customer support needs a little tweaking, overall the service is accessible, thorough, and reliable. PeopleLooker also sets itself apart from the crowd with its commitment to customer privacy and affordability, especially for those willing to sign up for a three-month unlimited membership.

Cartoonish feel of the site might be off-putting for some
PeopleLooker has a comprehensive range of reports available to their clients all of which will reveal the following data:
- Full name including maiden names
- Phone Numbers
- Addresses
- Relatives
- Email Addresses
- Social media profiles
- Criminal Records
- Court Records
More in-depth reports are also available at an extra cost and will include:
- Photographs of the individual
- Property information including prices, buyer and seller information
A complete background report on an individual’s criminal history will reveal all their colorful past in an accessible document that includes:
- Conviction records
- Outstanding warrants
- Traffic violations
- Speeding tickets
- Detailed offense records, including the date and location of the crime
- Federal, state, county, and local court databases
- Most Wanted lists
While PeopleLooker can be used simply to find an old school friend or locate a relative, the service is comprehensive enough that it can also be used to check out a new online love interest or screen potential roommates.
PeopleLooker’s simplistic layout and uncluttered approach to background checks gives the impression of a limited service but nothing could be further from the truth. As the old adage goes, “Never judge a book by its cover”, and PeopleLooker’s accessible cover belies its advanced, customer-focused approach to background checks, including some of the most cutting-edge property search, features currently available.
The only real negative about PeopleLooker’s reports is that some are only available via their cellphone apps and not online, which could be inconvenient for those stuck in the Stone Age but, for most, this feature is an advantage, enabling them to perform comprehensive background checks on the go.
Although some of PeopleLooker’s rivals may include certain reports at no additional cost, PeopleLooker’s pricing is completely transparent, so there are no unexpected charges for extra information.
Simple to use, PeopleLooker produces comprehensive and accessible reports in record time, cutting out much of the fuss and expense often associated with background check services. With access to an impressive database, PeopleLooker can compile an extensive report in a matter of minutes, presenting it in a coherent and attractive format.
If you’re using PeopleLooker online, you have the option to search using either a person’s name, email address, phone number or physical address. These customizable options are also available on their downloadable apps which are compatible with Android, Apple Watch, iPads and iPhones, making it one of the most versatile background check apps available.
The focus on mobile devices is an innovative approach, although the limitations of the online service will frustrate the more desk-bound among us. Nonetheless, in most instances, users do have access to the first and last names of the person they’re investigating and can further specify by entering the person’s state of residence.
However limited the information you have to begin the search, PeopleLooker will use it to create comprehensive results by accessing both online resources and public government records. The final report can be accessed either via your online account or by logging into your cellphone app.
It’s often tempting to think we could conduct our own background checks and save ourselves the subscription fees for a service like PeopleLooker. However, the truth is, accessing the same data sources as a reliable background check company costs us both time and money and, oftentimes, produces information that is difficult to navigate and results that we may struggle to comprehend. Don’t believe us? Just enter “access public criminal records” into your search engine and see how far you get…
PeopleLooker gets its information from millions of sources, compiling data from diverse sources, including:
- Court records
- Felony records
- Misdemeanor records
- Bankruptcy records
- Known Associates
- Known Professions
- Social media accounts
- Past Photos
PeopleLooker has an extensive database to work from and offers an additional service that allows customers to receive notifications every time new information is revealed about the person they searched for.
By accessing every possible record, from county to federal level, PeopleLooker is capable of producing an extensive report in the time it takes to make a cup of coffee. Not only is this service capable of supplying you with more information about a person than you could unearth in a year of searching, PeopleLooker achieves excellent results in record time and at an affordable price.
In keeping with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), PeopleLooker may not be used for employment background checks or for establishing an individual’s eligibility for housing, education and other similar purposes. In this respect, PeopleLooker, like all other online background check services is limited and will not allow the following:
- Tenant assessment
- Employment suitability
- Employment of household workers
- Verifying educational qualifications
- Establishing creditworthiness
Beyond these standard limitations, PeopleLooker is surprisingly unrestrictive and, although the website states that the service is only capable of checking up on people resident in the US, search results indicate that their social media background checks are more wide-ranging, accessing accounts based in other countries as well as within the US itself. Having said that, while some rival companies offer a Dark Web scan, this isn’t available on PeopleLooker, so, if you’re concerned about identity theft, you may need to try another option.
The speed and efficiency of the service make it extremely appealing, although the simplicity of the website may be off-putting for those who believe a complex display is commensurate with an effective service, or those wishing to perform a very specific and stringent search.
Not only is PeopleLooker comprehensive and easily accessible, but it’s also one of the most affordable. Now, before you start thinking that a free background check will give you the same results for nothing, think again. Most of the companies offering free background checks are using limited resources and, in many cases, out-of-date information, meaning that the results you get at the end may be both unreliable and inaccurate.
Assessing and comparing the prices of various background checks is surprisingly difficult, with few companies offering transparent information about their fees. Unfortunately, PeopleLooker is no exception and, even though their FAQ section states that “When you visit PeopleLooker for the first time, you should be brought to a page with our latest sign-up deals and special offers. You can also view our current pricing, neither of these options actually reveals their current fees.”
It was only by activating a people search that we were able to establish the exact cost of PeopleLooker’s service but, once we did, we were pleasantly surprised. The leading background check companies cost in the region of $26 to $27 for a month of unlimited searches, whereas subscribing to PeopleLooker will save you in the region of $4 to $5 per month, with their $18.28 monthly subscription.
As with most of their rivals, PeopleLooker offer a discounted price for those signing up for a three-month membership. At $14.62 per month, this is an extremely competitive service, with few reputable companies capable of undercutting them. For example, BeenVerified charges $14.86 per month for a three-month subscription, while Truthfinder costs in excess of $23 per month.
The only addition we would like to see in terms of PeopleLooker’s pricing would be a short-term trial at a reduced rate, like that offered by BeenVerified. Not only is this ideal for those just wanting to run a one-off report, but it also goes a long way to introducing new clients to the service and its benefits. The only drawback with a trial of this nature is that the searches and reports tend to be limited, while PeopleLooker’s simplistic approach to pricing makes the whole experience seamless.
Better still, PeopleLooker’s subscription, whether it’s for one month or three, covers you for unlimited reports of all types, including background reports, criminal record lookup, and property lookups.
Although PeopleLooker is committed to customer satisfaction, its delivery in this respect doesn’t always seem to match its intent. We found the FAQ section of the PeopleLooker website to be decidedly limited and somewhat frustrating. The general FAQ section has only six questions and answers, while the billing FAQs appear to answer everything but how much the service actually costs. Compare this to BeenVerified’s comprehensive FAQ section and you’ll soon understand where we’re coming from.
Similarly, while many background check companies have either an online ticket system or live chat service, PeopleLooker offers neither. In this day and age, this is simply unacceptable, although, somewhat surprisingly, few background check companies offer 24/7 support of any type and even fewer have an online chat service.
Nonetheless, while PeopleLooker claim “We pride ourselves on offering friendly and helpful support!”, the only real way to access that is via email or phone and, even then, only within office hours.
Both telephone and email support are available from 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 8pm at weekends, which is consistent with the competition. Unfortunately, the different time zones within the US mean that, as PeopleLooker is based in New York, customers in Seattle or San Francisco could wait up to four hours for a response. Having said that, when we tested their email support, it was before 8am their time and we still received a response within five minutes which pretty much blew our socks off.
On a more positive note, PeopleLooker does an excellent job of keeping its social media profiles and associated client relationships up-to-date. Checking on any social media platform, from Facebook to Google+, you’ll find a host of recent posts and up-to-date, relevant articles.
Nevertheless, we can’t fault PeopleLooker on their open approach to their customers nor their privacy policy, both of which are exemplary and boost their customer support rating accordingly.
can I cancel at any time, no obligations or issues? will I get a current address and phone number?
Hi and thanks for the question! As far as we have experienced, canceling your service with PeopleLooker shouldn’t be an issue at all. The company offers a hassle-free cancellation service and support agents will help guide you through the process of closing your account. As long as you have internet access, a phone, and your ID number, you should be able to close out your subscription. Keep in mind that as the service is a monthly subscription, you may still have to pay the last month you utilized the service. Let us know how it worked for you!
