Your computer’s IP address is blocked. What can be seen is the IP address of the server you are using. If you wish to access Google.com in the US, for instance, then choose a US server in your ExpressVPN menu.

    Hello Tamia,

It might be best to contact the VPN’s customer support team to see if they can find any solutions.

Unfortunately, if a VPN won’t work there might not be many options available to you. Other VPNs might be more useful, but I could not tell you if your school is blocking them or not.

    Hello,

To my knowledge I am uncertain of this. For now I would recommend seeing what other payment options ExpressVPN has (there are quite a few, including PayPal and Bitcoin) and seeing what you can obtain. There is likely a payment method that will work for you.

    Hey Jason,

I would just like to make a note that our general recommendation has changed to Buffered, see our main review page: /vpn-review/

As for our review at the time, we use a variety of parameters and metrics to determine the best VPN for a certain or location and at the time our tests concluded that ExpressVPN performed the best, despite its relative age. VPns are evolving services and age means very little in this market.

    Hello Maurice,

Sorry to hear that you’ve been having difficulties.

As for your problem, I would say it depends highly on what you have available to you. In some cases I wouldn’t rely on networks at all and use a data plan instead. As far as VPNs go, I understand your concerns. Right now we think Buffered VPN is the best for most circumstances. As for regulations, they know that if they betray the customer word will get around very quickly (much like your experience with ExpressVPN) and customers will jump ship to another VPN very quickly, so the best VPNs are trustworthy.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I’m afraid I’m not certain enough about your problem in order to properly solve it. It could very well be an issue with Match, and it might be prudent to contact their customer service to find your answer. Depending on how the sites logs and tracks IP addresses (they could get suspicious about different logins from different places) a VPN could simply not work for the dating service.

Hi A, No we don’t work for Buffered VPN we are an independently owned company. We do have a disclaimer on every page that we do receive compensation from some providers we recommend.

I appreciate how frustrating it is that Netflix is being blocked, a lot of the team here at SecureThoughts live outside the USA and love our Netflix as well. We have been in direct contact with the BufferedVPN support department and they are working around the clock to make sure all server locations are online. The only advice I can give is to try one of the other providers on the list if BufferedVPN does not work and see if you can open a channel on one of their server locations.

    Hi Anonymous,

The ease of use of a VPN has been a big feedback point from our users. Remeber the average person that uses a VPN is super technical hence why we made that recommendation. HMA does have a good server network, their support has reduced as they were recently purchased by a large corporate company that I think has slashed their customer service department. However thanks for the feedback. Other people can read this and make their decision based off the review and comments.

Thanks for the feedback Carson. I do know that HMA was bought by a very large corporate company and aren’t very responsive these days. I agree with you about HMA and Buffered VPN. We have had some poor feedback on PureVPN however I know they have been working very hard to upgrade their infrastructure.

    Hi Omar,

We have talked to Buffered VPN directly about this. Can you please contact their support – http://support.buffered.com/ and talked to the DEV team directly about this. They have developed a workaround for this and should be able to help you out.

    Hi Hughes,

It seems to be a very fluid environment at the moment. As you say it works when it does. The Express team is constantly working to make sure all server locations are open. Perhaps try one of the other services we recommended and see if they have an open server ?

    Hi Dan,

Yes we get paid by Express VPN for our review. However we get paid by most of the VPN services so in theory it is a level playing field. We have reviewed around 100 VPN’s to date. Some get really bad reviews. Checkout our VPN unlimited review, we gave them 67/100. This seems to be in line with your experience with them.

We try to stay independent. We have the same staff member review each VPN for consistency. Express VPN is one of the largest if not largest VPN com[any by total customers on the internet. They have a great service for the average user. If you are looking for no log VPN for privacy we suggest AirVPN.

Hi, David. Sorry you had problems. I just tried the link to BufferedVPN, and it took to me to the site with no problems. Can you try again?

    Hi Robert,

Yes there is an IOS app from Express VPN that you install on your Iphone 6. If you buy express VPN they have an app for your computer, Ipad and phone that is all included on the $8 monthly fee. Also Express VPN is our recommendation for China as they have a great server farm in Hong Kong that you connect too. Checkout our review here – /3-best-vpns-china/

    Hi Anne,

That is a shame that is happening, unfortunately your in the hands of the ExpressVPN support at the moment. The BBC have increased their protection and it seems that it has been a challenge on all VPN’s let’s see what ExpressVPN support says and go from there

    Jean,

We have found ExpressVPN to be the most reliable. Pure seems to have challenges with their server network more often than other VPN’s

    Hi Nick,

If the school has blocked VPN’s and proxies then the only other way is if you have your own computer. However I assume you are using a school computer so the answer is unfortunately there is no other option.

    Alex,

If they block you installing a VPN then try some proxy sites. Although they are less dependable than a VPN you might be able to find one that works.

Hey there Charles, thanks for your question.
ExpressVPN was found to rank the highest based on our testing, factoring in many different areas such as speed, customer service, price, and overall coverage area. All VPN providers have some limitations based on regional laws and restrictions, but when considering all the facts, ExpressVPN comes out on top for me.

Hey Jen – nice name 🙂
You are right – due to piracy concerns, as of October 2015, VPN users have been blocked from using the BBc iPlayer.
At least we can still catch a lot of those shows on Netflix and Hulu
